Wallpaper design. No, not for your desktop

Here’s something worth a glance. Check out surrealien.de. The design of the site could be better, but this guy, Tom Hanke, has a pretty cool gimmick: He developed a new style of wallpaper. And I’m not talking about desktop wallpapers.

If you ever wanted to add a new, shiny and one hundred percent unique style to any of your rooms at home, in the office or aboard of your yacht… ;) - take a look at this. The site offers individually produced wallpapers, fitting into your wall’s features in a quite interesting way. Each outlet - light switches, sockets, doors, etc. - is “embedded” in the wallpaper structure, i.e. the structure of the design is distorted. It’s still a plain wallpaper, but it’s printed for your very wall, after the place of every particular feature on it that you consider worth being embedded has been determined. With a computer program, the wallpaper design of your choice is altered (”warped”) according to the shape of the influencing wall elements. You’ll be able to apply the wallpaper by yourself after it’s been produced and delivered to you.
