Virb8bros. Launch

vibr8bros2.jpg

As we announced last week, we’ve been working on a new design blog for some time now. We put some time into developing it and today, I’m very proud to announce the launch of our new sister site!

The new site is called Vibr8bros.com. It’s our new blog on design related web development and blogging. It rounds out Nubloo.com, where we cover design related subjects in-depth - the new site Vibr8bros.com fills the gap and delivers practical knowledge and resources. You can find tutorials, free downloads and blogging tips on it. Our aim is to provide a valuable resource site for designers and bloggers - you might as well say blogging designers.

We already packed some interesting content on the site, carrying on discussions that have been started here:

  • In Part 2 of the 5×5 series, The Rules of Composition in Design, I explained how the Rule of Thirds can enhance your images and photographs. In this follow-up article on Vibr8bros.com, we put this into practice with a detailed Photoshop tutorial, including a free download of the source file which you can install in Photoshop and apply to your own artwork. Here’s a screenshot from this post:

Of course, there’s more than that. Photoshop and Illustrator tutorials, free Vectors, Brushes and Patterns, CSS tips & tricks, and how to make money online as a blogger are some of the key elements on Vibr8bros.com. Check out our new site and let us know your thoughts!

Set 2: The Rules of Composition in Design

“Composition” describes the arrangement of the elements of art, or design, in an artwork, using the principles of design. Sometimes, comp is used as a substitute for artwork (mainly in advertising), although that’s actually incorrect, as the artwork is the piece itself and not the placement of the elements inside.

This leads us to the question: What are the elements of design? The answer is the first rule of composition: Read on…

New Design Site Coming Up

8-soon.jpg

I want to take the opportunity to announce a new project we’re working on right now. It’s going to be another WordPress powered site. The new site will also be about design - only this time, it will be of a more practical nature. Design tutorials and resources, web trends & technology, freebies and blogging are a few cues to wake your interest.

We came up with the idea for a simple reason. While Nubloo’s Blog covers design, advertising and creativity at a more in-depth and theoretical level, we also wanted to open up a new platform dedicated to design and blogging that will have a more practical approach. The new site will be an addition to this blog, so no worries - Nubloo’s blog is staying up and on!

We can already tell you that if you’re interested in design and blogging, you should stick around. We can’t tell you too many secrets since it’s not officially launched yet. Just stay with us, we will announce the launch very soon. Read on…
